Northeastern Pennsylvania Reading Association 50th Anniversary Dinner

The authors of KidLit, Ink happily participated in the 50th Anniversary dinner of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Reading Association. We started the evening's festivities with a presentation titled:

CRAFTING A STORY: NOTE BY NOTE!

Seriously, we combined musical notes with written notes to explain to the reading specialists and librarians how a story is written.

From Pat's "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Story" to Gayle's "Stuck in the Middle Again, to Alison's "It's the End of the Book As We Know It," we sang our way through the steps in writing a book.
Jan was our impressive narrator and Lindsay portrayed our words with lively illustrations. Fun was had by all.

And the best part was that one of our own, Patricia Thomas, was recognized by the NPRA with a "Celebrate Literacy Award" for her contribution to Children's Literature for the past forty years.

Her most famous picture book took center stage. "STAND BACK," SAID THE ELEPHANT, I'M GOING TO SNEEZE."

Here's to the next Fifty!  Congratulations Northeastern Pennsylvania Reading Association, President Donna Salva, and our very own Patricia Thomas!
